VideoVampire Knight Opening 1st episodeApr 16, '08 11:46 PM
for everyone
This is the first Vampirie Knight opening song... as subbed by Shoku-dan. This is way better than the trailer opening song they showed us. The color of the animation is what I imagined it to be, unlike the first trailer. Furthermore, the eyes now have life and they even look shiny! You can really see the emotions in those eyes. As What I said on my earlier entry, in this anime, the eyes of the characters play a very important role. I'm glad they made the anime better than the trailer.

As for the song, please read my previous post regarding it. My opinion did not change regarding the song, but it has regarding the animation. The animation really did improve a lot! Although the way Kaname was drawn was not how I imagined him to be... Does he look fat to you in the anime, or something? He sure does to me! Well, okay, there are angles where he looks fat.

I change my mind... The color of the animation is great, and the eyes of each character has a certain rich texture and color. So there, maybe it was because the other video was just a trailer that's why the color was really off. This video is better! This is the ending video of Vampire Knight as subbed by Shoku-dan.

Regarding the song, this song (unlike the opening) fits really well with the anime. I love the tempo and feel of it. It kinda takes you to that ethereal albeit dark atmosphere which vampire knight really is. Aside from the (again) horrible english pronunciation which most japanese songs have, the song fits the anime perfectly.

Blog EntryVampire Knight Opening (comments)Apr 2, '08 10:56 PM
for everyone
Ever read the Manga Vampire Knight? Well, my friends and I have been waiting for the anime version of it even though the manga is still ongoing. And guess what!? It's almost out!!!! To be specific, on the 7th of April. Here's the opening for you!^__^ My comments are below the video.

Comments

Animation:

First of all, the animation looks rather lifeless. I was expecting more life, darkness, and of course, sparks in the eyes of the characters. Judging from this opening song, we are not given any moving character, just pictures (heelllooooo!!! We've had enough of pictures from the manga already!). We obviously want to see moving characters. The animation looks rather dull. I wasn't expecting the colors to be so pastel. I thought it would be more pleasing to the eyes. Speaking of eyes, as I mentioned earlier, we notice that the sparks in the eyes of the characters are gone. Thus, Kaname's enchanting look disappeared, Zero's glares do not convey much of his feelings as much as in the manga, and Yuki, just looks like a normal student without anything mysterious about her. All in all, I was disappointed with the animation. It was okay that the color didn't match the feel of the anime, but to have the sparks of the eyes out was disheartening. In the manga, the beauty and feelings of the characters were mostly conveyed through the expression of the character's eyes. In the anime, I don't know how they can pull it off with eyes as dull as those. We still don't know though since we haven't seen the anime yet. We will just have to wait and see.

Music:

The music sounds so "boy-band-ish", if there is such a term. The vocals are "okay" but I still didn't feel the enigma of the anime in the song. It's low enough to know that the anime is a bit dark, but the tempo of the song is too pop for my taste. The song could have been better if it were in the rock genre instead of the current one. Maybe the next opening song would be better than this if they ever made a new one.

Blog EntryEarth Hour 2008: An InvitationFeb 3, '08 8:00 AM
for everyone
Hello,

I'd like to invite you to join Earth Hour this year. Earth Hour is an
initiative of WWF-Australia and Fairfax Media, which calls on
individuals and businesses around the world, to turn off their lights
for one hour on Saturday 29th, March 2008 between 8:00pm and 9:00pm.

The aim of the campaign is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 5% in 2008.

On 31 March 2007, 2.2 million people and 2100 Sydney businesses turned
off their lights for one hour. This massive collective effort reduced
Sydney's energy consumption by 10.2% for one hour, which is the
equivalent effect of taking 48,000 cars off the road for one hour.

We can also do it here in Manila. Let's help make Earth Hour a global
campaign. Let's also do our part as a nation. Join the movement!
Pledge your involvement, by signing here
<http://earthhour.org/user/ys58>. Help spread the word. If you
can, ask business establishments to join in too.

Thanks!

Blog EntryFinally, it's OVER!Jan 30, '08 11:16 AM
for everyone
After, weeks of hard and sweaty labor, my hell weeks are officially OVER!!!!

Woohooo!!!! I finally have time to relax, watch some movies, animes, and of course sleep.

Frustrations, nerve wrecking pains of terror caused by overfatigue and lack of sleep are gone! I am officially welcoming my days ahead with a humungous smile on my face!

I already watched Sweeny Todd and Alvin and the Chipmunks at Trinoma, and National Treasure: Book of Secrets at SM North Edsa. So, you might have already guessed that I'm broke >_<

T__T It's really sad that just after a day after my hell weeks are over, I became poor! So this is how it feels to be poor and free. Oh well! I still can't help but be thankful to have survived my hell weeks. Whew! Now I gotta start studying! I now know that cramming doesn't really do anything to help!

But even though it's over for now, I would still have those weeks next month, so as early as now, I guess I better do something about it! hehehe

Blog EntryLiving Your LifeJan 13, '08 8:46 AM
for everyone
Last Christmas break, my family and I were watching (again) National Geographic. There was this certain infomercial they showed. It talked about how many years, months, weeks, and days you spend doing something else instead of "living your life". As far as I remember, I think you only had about 15 days (or was it weeks?) to live your life. The most striking line for me there was "you spend 19 days looking for the remote". In my case, since I'm a TV buff, I think it's more, a lot more!

Out of curiousity, I asked my dad what he wanted to do after my brother, my sister, and I graduated, and have our own family. What would he do to live his life?

Most people would answer that they want to travel the world (if they can afford it), go camping, do things they haven't done ever in their lives, or what have you.

To my great amazement, he answered that he was just going to sit and watch TV. I asked him if he doesn't want to go to the mountains and camp or something. He said that for 16 years of his life, he lived in the mountains and worked there, why would he go back? He had a big point (like that red or yellow blot on our siopao). But was he already contented with just sitting back and watching the television? He answered with a big fat YES! I asked my mom what she thinks dad would do after we all graduate, and her answer was the same with my dad: "watch TV of course!"

I was so dumbfounded at both of their answers, that even now, weeks after our conversation, I was still thinking about what they said. Could my dad be already contented with his life? Doesn't he want to do more profound things? You know, really live his life?

When I think about it though, it makes me wonder what living your life really means. Does it mean being the wealthiest man on earth? Does it mean being the most beautiful, doing everything there is to be done in this world, or simply being contented?

I still haven't asnwered these lingering questions, but at least I know, and am proud to say that my dad is one of those people who are happy with what they have. That he will have lived his life after we graduate.

Blog EntryMokona CollectionDec 25, '07 7:16 PM
for everyone
A lot of people collect stamps, some people collect coins, and a few even cars. My collection, however, is not a thing but a creature, although I doubt if I'll ever find one.

I have wondered why I collected the merchandise and it traced me back to my first and only Christmas party at Ilang-Ilang Residence Hall. I recieved it as a gift from my Monita, ate Gillian. Now, whenever I see it, I always get the urge of buying it. With it's soft and cuddly fur, you really can't help yourself from touching it. What or who am I talking about? Who else but Mokona Modoki. Larg to be precise.

Mokona Modoki was created by Mokona of Clamp (used to be called Mokona Apapa) who is the lead artist, coloris, and designer of the team. There are two Mokona Modoki (or just plain Mokona), but they are never usually called by their real names. Hence, people just both call them Mokona. However, my collection is not the white Mokona (Soel), but the Black Mokona, Larg (to be called Larg hence forth for minor confusion).

Why did I choose Larg instead of Soel? That's easy! Although Soel looks like the original Mokona from Magic Knights Rayearth, I found that I love Larg's Personality better than Soel's which I will be explaining in another entry.

Anyway, so far, these are the things which I have collected, and will be updated. If you are a generous person, and has found a mokona merchandise which I don't have, PLEASE tell me (or give me? hehehe) so that I can add it to my collection. Hontou ni arigatou gozaimasu! ^___^

My Collection:

I bought this at the UP AME Gakuensai last november. It looked so cute, I just couldn't resist!

This was the bag ate Gillian gave me last Christmas of 2006 which I still use. I love this bag very much since it can be a bag and at the same time a toy.

For our Christmas party Last 2007, ate Yam gave this to me!^__^

Along with this! aaahhh... They're tottemo kawaii!!! Although she gave me Soel instead of Larg >_< Thanks ate Yam!

On my birthday this year (2008), B2 (ichiban tomodachi) gave this to me! ehehehe thank you very very much!!!

Last year, Aveya gave this Mokona coin purse to me! This, along with ate Gillian's gift was what ignited my Mokona fandom! hehehe This Mokona has its mouth closed, so it's very rare. I've searched everywhere for this same merchandise but have yet to find the same. So, thanks a bunch aveya!

I actually bought this mokona phone strap myself. Yeah, just so my collection would grow a little bit. hehehe
